A system and method for reducing amplitude distortion in data signals transmitted via cellular analog communication systems are embodied in several forms. In one embodiment, pre-emphasis (130) and de-emphasis (170) functions of the cellular system are offset by complementary pre-emphasis (320) and post-emphasis (370) functions to preclude clipping of high frequency components of the data signal by the limiter (150). Alternately, the limiter circuit (150) is selectively bypassed when a data signal is transmitted.

Un système et un procédé, qui permettent de réduire la distorsion d'amplitude des signaux de données transmis par des systèmes de communications analogiques cellulaires, peuvent prendre différentes formes. Dans une variante, les fonctions de préaccentuation (130) et de désaccentuation (170) du système cellulaire sont compensées par des fonctions de préaccentuation (320) et de désaccentuation (370) complémentaires pour éviter que le limiteur (150) écrête des composantes de haute fréquence contenues dans le signal de données. Une autre solution consiste à court-circuiter sélectivement le circuit de limitation (150) pendant la transmission d'un signal de données.
