Ampule For Needleless Hypodermic Injection Device Abstract An ampule for holding an injectant for injection by a needleless injection device using compressed gas, has a nozzle section with a nozzle length to nozzle diameter ratio of approximately 2.0 to 5Ø A general conical throat section is joined to the nozzle section, and has inner walls flaring outwardly away from the nozzle sec- tion. A first transition section joined to the throat section has inner walls curving convexly away from each other. A second transition section joined directly to the first transition section has concavely curving inner walls leading into the ampule body. The conical throat opening is joined to the nozzle opening by a convex radius approx- imately equal to ten times the diameter of the nozzle opening.
