ABSTRACT FATTY ACID COMPOSITIONS HAVING ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PROPERTIES. The compositions include, by way of principle active principal, in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, one or several salts of one or several fatty acids having the general formula: CH3-CX..HY..OZ-COO-X+ in which x = 2 to 30, y = 2 to 60, z = 0 to 6 and X+ is the cation of the base utilized (preferably sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide). The fatty acids are chosen from those derived from natural substances, and notably oils and fats of animal or vegetable origin. The fatty acid salt or salts can be combined with one or several steroidal or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories. These compositions are destined for application by parenteral, oral, rectal, or diathelic route as well as by dermal and intradermal route.
