In a system where a plurality of position registering methods are used, edge nodes (310,320) or higher order communication nodes convert, if necessary, position registration signals from mobile terminals (110, 120) and perform position registrations in accordance with connected networks (201, 202). Alternatively, the mobile terminals, the edge nodes or the like automatically select and use appropriate position registering methods in accordance with usages or conditions of the mobile terminals, such as the types of applications utilized by the mobile terminals.
