An infrared assistive listening system capable of enhanced performance in medium-sized locations, such as courtrooms, classrooms, and conference rooms, is realized by a system comprising a pressure zone microphone capable of picking up distant speakers, a high-gain pre- amplifier, an equalization and pre-emphasis circuit, an automatic gain control and limiting circuit, a mute feature capable of remote activation, an FM modulator, a pulse width modulator, and a high-power single front throw infrared emitter. Another embodiment of the invention employs a multi-directional infrared emitter array in conjunction with the single front throw emitter.
L'invention se rapporte à un système à infra-rouge d'écoute assistée pouvant présenter de meilleures caractéristiques de fonctionnement dans des endroits de taille moyenne, telles que des salles de tribunal, des salles de classe et des salles de conférence. Ce système comprend un microphone à zones à pression pouvant capter des orateurs éloignés, un pré-amplificateur à gain élevé, un circuit d'égalisation et de préaccentuation, un circuit limiteur et de commande de gain automatique, un dispositif silencieux pouvant être actionné à distance, un modulateur FM, un modulateur d'impulsions en largeur, et un seul émetteur puissant, à infra-rouge, à émissions dirigées vers l'avant.
