A nailing machine has a substantially straight contact rod and an operation dial. The contact rod is supported so as to be slidable and rotatable relative to a nose section. The operation dial is slidably inserted in the contact rod, provided so as to be rotatable with the contact rod, and installed so as to be rotatable relative to the nose section and to be restricted to move vertically. The contact rod is rotated through the operation dial to adjust a projection length in the direction to the tip of the nose section of a contact member.
