Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate transporting Internet protocol (IP) datagrams over a broadcast wireless network, such as a forward- link-only (FLO) network. According to aspects, third-party IP applications to operate over a FLO network without having to understand FLO-specific lower- layer protocols. In such cases, third party applications may request the FLO network as a data transmission pipe, and data may pass through FLO network without modification.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés qui permettent de transporter des datagrammes de protocole Internet (IP) sur un réseau de diffusion sans fil tel qu'un réseau à liaison descendante uniquement (FLO). Dans certaines formes de réalisation, des applications IP tierces fonctionnent sur un réseau FLO sans qu'il soit nécessaire qu'elles comprennent les protocoles de couche inférieure spécifiques de FLO.
