A flexible surgical drape (10), having an adhesive side (14), and a non- adhesive side (12). The adhesive side (14) is adhesive across substantially its entire face. The drape (10) consists of a flexible sheet suitable for covering a substantial portion of a patient's body. A pocket (24), for catching patient secretions and other fluids is attached to the adhesive side (14), of the drape. The drape (10), contains an opening (16), capable of receiving a removable valve, which, when in place, seals off the opening (16), and prevents the passage of gases, secretions, and fluids that are typically present during a medical procedure. The valve can be made to lock into the opening so as to reduce the likelihood of its inadvertent removal. An examining tool such as a colonoscope fits through a hole extending through the valve and thus can be passed from one side of the drape to the other.
L'invention concerne un champ chirurgical (10) souple comprenant un côté adhésif (14) et un côté non adhésif (12). Le côté adhésif (14) est adhésif sensiblement sur la totalité de la surface. Le champ (10) est composé d'une feuille souple appropriée pour recouvrir une partie substantielle du corps d'un patient. Une poche (24) destinée à recueillir les sécrétions du patient et d'autres fluides est fixée au côté adhésif (14) du champ. Ledit champ (10) comprend une ouverture (16) capable de recevoir une vanne amovible, qui lorsqu'elle est en place, ferme l'ouverture (16) de manière étanche, et empêche le passage des gaz, des sécrétions, et des fluides généralement présents pendant une procédure médicale.
