A method for improving the strike through properties of hot melt adhesive compositions comprising the step of incorporating therein a nonionic fluorchemical surfactant in an amount of 0.1 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts adhesive. A process for bonding tissue nonwoven to similar or dissimilar substrates comprising the step of applying to the substrate a molten hot melt adhesive composition, said hot melt adhesive containing 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a fluorchemical surfactant per 100 parts of the adhesive.
