A device for assisting in envelope loading is disclosed. The device is intended for use, in pairs, with an envelope formed of substantially planar, rectangular first and second wall portions joined at three edges and having an opening provided between the fourth edges for accessing the interior of the envelope. The device comprises first and second inner portions and first and second outer portions conjoined at one end and diverging therefrom, each outer portion co-operating with a respective inner portion to form a channel for receiving a part of a fourth edge of a wall portion of the envelope. First and second intermediate portions are provided for joining the respective inner and outer portions. In use, one device is located on the fourth edges of the wall portions at each end of the opening, the devices tending to hold the edges apart and maintain the opening to facilitate loading of the envelope.
