The invention concerns the use of a lignan, which is a plant lignan, a metabolite thereof or a combination of both, for the manufacture of a composition for preventing or alleviating of symptoms relating to estrogen deficiency in an individual. Furthermore, the invention concerns the use of a plant lignan capable of being a precursor for enterolactone or another metabolite of said plant lignan, for the manufacture of a composition useful for increasing the level of enterolactone or another metabolite of a plant lignan in an individual's serum, wherein said individual suffers from or is at risk of estrogen deficiency.
La présente invention concerne l'emploi d'une lignane, qui peut être une lignane d'origine végétale, un métabolite de ladite lignane ou une combinaison des deux, dans l'élaboration d'une préparation destinée à la prévention ou au soulagement de symptômes liés à une insuffisance en AEstrogènes chez un individu. En outre, la présente invention concerne l'emploi d'une lignane végétale susceptible d'être un précurseur de l'entérolactone, ou d'un autre métabolite de ladite lignane végétale, dans l'élaboration d'une préparation pouvant être employée dans le but d'augmenter le taux d'entérolactone ou d'un autre métabolite de lignane végétale au sein du sérum d'un individu, lorsque ledit individu souffre d'une insuffisance en AEstrogènes, ou lorsqu'il est susceptible de développer une telle insuffisance.
