Fuel cell comprising: (a) an anode; (b) a cathode; (c) a polymer electrolyte membrane placed between the anode and the cathode which comprises at least one polyolefin grafted with side chains containing proton conductive functional groups; wherein said fuel cell has: a value of cell resistance at 90 ~C not higher than 0.30 .OMEGA. cm2, preferably comprised between 0.2 .OMEGA. cm2 and 0.25 .OMEGA. cm2, more preferably comprised between 0.05 .OMEGA. cm2 and 0.20 .OMEGA. cm2; a value of cell resistance at 20 ~C differing from the value of cell resistance at 90 ~C of an amount not higher than 90%, preferably not higher than 70%, more preferably not higher than 50%, with respect to the value of cell resistance at 90 ~C. Preferably, said fuel cell is a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC).

L'invention concerne une pile à combustible comprenant (a) une anode, (b) une cathode et (c) une membrane électrolyte polymère disposée entre ladite anode et ladite cathode, cette membrane comprenant au moins une polyoléfine sur laquelle sont greffées des chaînes latérales contenant des groupes fonctionnels conducteurs de protons. Cette pile à combustible possède une valeur de résistance à 90 ·C inférieure à 0,30 O cm?2¿, de préférence comprise entre 0,02 O cm?2¿ et 0,25 O cm?2¿, idéalement comprise entre 0,05 O cm?2¿ et 0,20 O cm?2¿ et une valeur de résistance à 20 ·C qui diffère de la valeur de résistance à 90 ·C d'une quantité inférieure à 90 %, de préférence inférieure à 70 %, idéalement inférieure à 50 % de la valeur de résistance à 90 ·C. Cette pile à combustible est de préférence une pile à méthanol direct (DMFC).
