A fiber optic network having a branch cable with a plurality of optical fibers optically coupled to a distribution cable, and first and second optical connection terminals connected in series is disclosed. The first optical connection terminal is adapted to receive a first segment of the branch cable. The first optical connection terminal is configured such that predetermined ones of a first plurality of ports comprise one or more of a first drop port and a first pass-through port. The first drop port is operable for optically coupling a first respective predetermined one of the plurality of optical fibers to a first drop cable. The first pass-through port is operable for optically coupling a second respective predetermined one of the plurality of optical fibers to a second segment of the branch cable extending externally from the first optical connection terminal. The second optical connection terminal is adapted to receive the second segment of the branch cable. The second optical connection terminal is configured such that a predetermined one of a second plurality of ports comprises a second drop port operable for optically coupling the second respective predetermined one of the plurality of optical fibers to a second drop cable.
Cette invention se rapporte à un réseau à fibres optiques qui présente un câble de dérivation avec une pluralité de fibres optiques couplées de manière optique à un câble de distribution et à des premier et deuxième terminaux de connexion optique connectés en série. Le premier terminal de connexion optique est adapté pour recevoir un premier segment du câble de dérivation. Le premier terminal de connexion optique est configuré de telle sorte que des ports prédéterminés d'une première pluralité de ports comprennent un ou plusieurs premiers ports de dérivation et un premier port traversant. Le premier port de dérivation peut être utilisé pour coupler de manière optique une première fibre optique prédéterminée respective de la pluralité de fibres optiques à un premier câble de dérivation. Le premier port traversant peut être utilisé pour coupler de manière optique une deuxième fibre optique prédéterminée respective de la pluralité de fibres optiques à un deuxième segment du câble de dérivation qui s'étend à l'extérieur à partir du premier terminal de connexion optique. Le deuxième terminal de connexion optique est adapté de façon à recevoir le deuxième segment du câble de dérivation. Le deuxième terminal de connexion optique est configuré de telle sorte qu'un port prédéterminé d'une deuxième pluralité de ports comprenne un deuxième port de dérivation pouvant être utilisé pour coupler de manière optique la deuxième fibre optique prédéterminée respective de la pluralité de fibres optiques à un deuxième câble de dérivation.
