A modular fuel nozzle (20) comprising a body (24) defining a central fuel passage (26) exiting the body through a spray orifice (30), the body having a conical peripheral surface (34) with the spray orifice disposed at an apex of the conical peripheral surface The conical peripheral surface including a plurality of open-section channels (32) An annular collar (36) is mounted to the body wherein the collar and the conical surface of the body co-operate to define the channels as a plurality of enclosed air passages Also described is a method of making the fuel nozzle which permits lower cost manufacturing operations such as injection moulding.

L~invention concerne un injecteur de carburant modulaire (20) comprenant un corps (24) définissant un passage de carburant central (26) sortant du corps par un orifice d~injection (30), le corps ayant une surface périphérique conique (34) avec l'orifice d~injection disposé au sommet de la surface périphérique conique, la surface périphérique conique comprenant une pluralité de canaux à section ouverte (32).
