The present invention relates to methods for the treatment and repair of cartilage, including cartilage damaged by injury or cartilagenous disorders, including arthritis, comprising the administration of insulin and/or insulin variants. Optionally, the administration may be in combination with a cartilage agent (e.g., peptide growth factor, catabolism antagonist, osteo-, synovial, anti-inflammatory factor), in an extended- or sustained-release form. Alternatively, the method provides for the treatment and repair of cartilage damaged by injury or cartilagenous disorders comprising the administration of insulin and/or insulin in combination with standard surgical techniques. Alternatively, the method provides for the treatment and repair of cartilage damaged by injury or cartilagenous disorders comprising the administration of chondrocytes previously treated with an effective amount of insulin and/or insulin variant.
L'invention concerne des méthodes permettant de traiter et de réparer un cartilage, notamment un cartilage endommagé par une blessure, ou de traiter des affections des cartilages notamment l'arthrite, consistant à administrer de l'insuline et/ou des variants d'insuline. Cette administration peut éventuellement être associée à un agent de cartilage (par exemple, un facteur de croissance peptidique, un antagoniste de catabolisme, un facteur ostéo-, synovial, anti-inflammatoire) sous une forme étendue ou à libération soutenue. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, ce procédé concerne le traitement et la réparation d'un cartilage endommagé par une blessure, ou le traitement d'affections des cartilages, consistant à administrer de l'insuline et/ou de l'insuline associée à des techniques chirurgicales standards. Selon un dernier mode de réalisation, ce procédé concerne le traitement et la réparation d'un cartilage endommagé par une blessure, ou le traitement d'affections des cartilages, consistant à administrer des chondrocytes antérieurement traités avec une quantité efficace d'insuline et/ou de variant d'insuline.
