A polymer composition consisting of a compatibilized blend of a polyolefin being grafted with a copolymerized allyl epoxy compound and a styrenic compound, and a polyamide. This composition is obtained by grafting the polyolefin with an allyl epoxy compound and styrene in the presence of a peroxide in a single step reactive extrusion process. This composition may be used in packages for food packaging and other products requiring an improved oxygen barrier.

Composition polymère qui est constituée d'un mélange compatibilisé d'une polyoléfine greffée avec un composé allyle époxy copolymérisé et un composé styrène, et d'un polyamide. On obtient ladite composition en greffant la polyoléfine avec un composé allyle époxy et du styrène en présence d'un peroxyde dans un processus d'extrusion réactif à une seule étape. Ladite composition peut être utilisée pour l'emballage de produits alimentaires et d'autres produits nécessitant une barrière améliorée contre l'oxygène.
