2062744 9100720 PCTABS00003 The present invention relates to a method for imparting varying degrees of elasticity in mutually different parts of a thin, resilient material, preferably casing material for disposable, absorbent articles, such as diapers and incontinence guards. According to the invention, material is removed from those areas of the resilient material which are to be given a lesser degree of elasticity than remaining areas of the article, while leaving coherent material-parts in the areas from which material has been removed. The invention also relates to material manufactured by means of the method, and to a disposable, absorbent article, such as a diaper or an incontinence guard, which includes a casing layer manufactured from inventive resilient material.
