A CardBus Microprocessor Unit PC Card (10) comprising a PCI Bridge/Memory Controller (12), one or more Microprocessors (14) with an optional Level 2 Cache Memory (20), a Boot Flash ROM (18), a RAM (16) and a PC Card CIS (Card Information Structure) (22). The card is used for dynamic adding either multiprocessor or multiplatform capability to a PCI compliant host computer system having one or more PCI-to-CardBus bridges. The present invention targeted a wide plurality of mobile and stationary computer systems. In general the present invention takes the opportunity of the merger of two industry standards, that is, PCI and PC Card, which defined CardBus architecture.
