A chitin oligomer composition and/or chitosan oligomer composition in which the content of oligomers having a degree of polymerization of 3 to 10 is 60% or higher; and a process for producing the oligomer composition(s). The process comprises mixing hydrofluoric acid, another hydrohalogenic acid, or an acid of either with a chitin-based and/or chitosan-based material.
La présente invention concerne une composition d'oligomères de chitine et/ou une composition d'oligomères de chitosane dans lesquelles la proportion des oligomères possédant un degré de polymérisation compris entre 3 et 10 est supérieure ou égale à 60 %; et à un procédé de production de la ou des compositions d'oligomères. Ledit procédé consiste à mélanger de l'acide hydrofluorique, un autre acide hydrohalogénique, ou un acide de l'un ou l'autre type avec une matière à base de chitine et/ou une matière à base de chitosane.
