The invention relates to novel substituted triazolinones of the general formula (I), Image in which R1 represents hydrogen, halogen, cyano, hydroxyl or one of the radicals -R6, -O-R6, -O-NR6R7, -S-R6, -S(O)-R6 or -SO2-R6, R2 represents hydrogen, hydroxyl, amino, cyano or one of the radicals -R6, -O-R6 or -N=CR6R7, R3 represents hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or halogenoalkyl, R4 represents hydrogen, one of the radicals -R6, -O-R6 or -SO2-R6 or an inorganic or organic cation and R5 represents amino, hydroxyl or one of the radicals -R6 or -NR6R7, or R4 and R5 together represent a divalent alkanediyl radical and X represents oxygen or sulphur, where R6 represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl, which may each optionally be substituted, R7 represents hydrogen or represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, which may each optionally be substituted, processes for their preparation, novel intermediates and their use as herbicides.
