A mechanically raked screen system is used for preliminary waste water treatment. A screen (2) is formed of a multiplicity of mutually parallel screen bars (14). The screen bars (14) are oriented substantially transversely relative to a flow direction of a flowing liquid and forming screen spaces of a given width therebetween. A rake assembly rakes the screenings from the screen (2). The rake assembly includes two endless chains (4) which are traveling about sprocket wheels (5) disposed laterally of the screen (2), and a rake (3) attached to and extending between the claims. The rake (3) is oriented substantially perpendicularly to the screen (2) and travels with the chains (4) for repeatedly raking the screen (2). The tynes (10) of the rake (3) are integrally formed from a single metal piece together with the rake plate (11). The vertical screen bars (14) have a trapezoidal cross section, such that the leading side facing against the flow of the waste water is about twice as wide as the trailing side.
On utilise un système de grille comportant des râteaux mécaniques afin d'effectuer un traitement préliminaire d'eaux usées. Une grille (2) est constituée par une multiplicité de barreaux (14) parallèles les uns aux autres. Ces barreaux (14) sont orientés dans un sens pratiquement transversal par rapport à un sens d'écoulement d'un liquide et présentent entre eux des espaces d'une largeur donnée. Un ensemble râteau ratisse les déchets arrêtés par la grille (12). Cet ensemble râteau comprend deux chaînes sans fin (4) se déplaçant autour de roues dentées (5) situées en position latérale par rapport à la grille (12), ainsi qu'un râteau fixé aux chaînes et s'étendant entre ces chaînes. Le râteau (3) est orienté pratiquement perpendiculairement à la grille (2) et se déplace avec les chaînes (4) afin de ratisser la grille (2) de façon répétée. Les dents (10) du râteau sont fabriquées en une pièce métallique monobloc solidaire de la plaque de base (11) du râteau. Les barreaux verticaux (14) de la grille possèdent une section transversale trapézoïdale, de sorte que le côté avant dirigé contre l'écoulement des eaux usées présente une largeur deux fois plus importante que celle du côté arrière.
