The apparatus is a trimmer (16) and mower deck (12) combination comprising a trimmer (16) resiliently positioned with respect to the mower deck (12) for horizontal movement with respect to the mower deck (12). A resilient member (40) holds the trimmer in an extended position away from the mower deck (12) and allows the trimmer (16) to move to a retracted position adjacent the mower deck (12) when the trimmer (16) meets a fixed obstacle. A drive for operating the trimmer is adapted to move with the trimmer. As a result, an operator may mow in a straight line and do the edging without interfering with the mower of the main deck.
L'invention concerne un coupe-bordures (16) et un ch~ssis (12) de tondeuse combin~s comportant un coupe-bordures (16) plac~ de manire r~siliente par rapport au ch~ssis (12) de tondeuse en vue d'effectuer un mouvement horizontal par rapport au ch~ssis (12) de tondeuse. Un ~l~ment r~silient (40) maintient le coupe-bordures dans une position ~tendue, loin du ch~ssis (12) de tondeuse, et permet au coupe-bordures (16) de se d~placer dans une position r~tract~e adjacente au ch~ssis de tondeuse quand le coupe-bordures bute sur un obstacle fixe. Un ~l~ment d'entra¹nement destin~ ~ actionner le coupe-bordures est con×u pour se d~placer avec le coupe-bordures. Par cons~quent, l'op~rateur peut tondre en ligne droite et couper les bordures sans devoir intervenir sur la tondeuse du ch~ssis principal.
