This invention involves a multi-layer insulation system which, by virtue of its structure and composition, combines the advantages of an insulating material with those of a compound that resists puncturing and often has good drainage properties. This system is intended to be buried and to serve as an insulating, thermal layer during the construction of roads, railways and airports. It consists of a layer of insulating material with a thermal resistance in excess of 0.3 (°K*m2)/W according to the ASTM C-518 and/or ASTM C-177 standard and at least one puncture-resistant compound applied to at least one of the two surfaces of the insulating layer to reduce damage to the latter due to puncturing.

L'invention concerne un système multicouche isolant qui, de par sa structure et sa composition, combine les avantages d'une matière isolante à ceux d'une composante anti-poinçonnante, souvent drainante. Ce système est destiné à être enfoui en vue de servir de couche d'isolation thermique lors de la construction de routes, voies ferrées ou aéroports. Il comprend une couche de matière isolante présentant une résistance thermique de plus de 0,3 (°K* m2/)W d'après la norme ASTM C-518 et/ou ASTM C-177 et au moins une composante anti-poinçonnante appliquée sur au moins une des deux surfaces de la couche de matière isolante pour réduire l'endommagement de cette dernière dû au poinçonnement.
