A wireless diffuse infrared local area network communication system (10) is provided for enclosed areas. The communication system includes a controller (12) and a substantially omnidirectional infrared transceiver (16a) disposed on an inside wall of the enclosed area (11) operatively interconnected with the controller. The system further includes a remote station (14) and means, operatively connected to the remote station, for transceiving a communicated signal with the substantially omnidirectional infrared transceiver.

L'invention concerne un système de communications (10) à infrarouge diffus sans fil pour réseau local destiné à des zones délimitées. Le système de communications comprend un contrôleur (12) ainsi qu'un émetteur-récepteur (16a) à infrarouge omnidirectionnel disposé sur un mur intérieur de la zone délimitée (11), interconnecté fonctionnellement au contrôleur. Le système comprend également une station éloignée (14) ainsi qu'un moyen relié fonctionnellement à la station éloignée, destiné à émettre et à recevoir un signal transmis par l'émetteur-récepteur à infrarouge omnidirectionnel.
