An appliance to enhance the rate of removal of solutes during a peritoneal dialysis treatment of a subject, includes a holder to be applied to the subject, and a vibrator device, preferably two such devices, carried by the holder at a location to engage the front side of the subject's abdomen and to apply mechanical vibrations thereto at a frequency of 1-15 Hz, and an amplitude of 1-20 mm, particularly surprising results having been obtained at a frequency of 2-6 Hz, and an amplitude of 5-10 mm.

Appareil permettant d'accroître la vitesse d'élimination de solutés lors du traitement d'un sujet par dialyse péritonéale. L'appareil comprend un support à appliquer sur le sujet, ainsi qu'un élément vibrateur, ou de préférence deux d'entre eux, tenus par le support à un endroit tel qu'ils se trouvent en contact avec la partie antérieure de l'abdomen du sujet, à laquelle ils font subir des vibrations mécaniques ayant une fréquence comprise entre 1 et 15 Hz et une amplitude comprise entre 1 et 20 mm. Des résultats étonnants ont été enregistrés pour une fréquence de 2 à 6 Hz et une amplitude de 5 à 10 mm.
