A process for ultrafiltration using a spiral wound membrane filter is disclosed where the pressure in the space between the filter element and the pressure vessel is higher than or equal to the pressure inside the filter element. Using these conditions the static force created by the pressure provides a high friction between different sheets in the spiral wound filter element, which efficient prevents unwinding or telescoping of the filter element. Using this configuration it is possible to perform the ultrafiltration using a higher differential pressure across the filter element than would otherwise have been possible which leads to a higher efficiency and a low energy consumption. Further an anti telescoping device (ATD) and a spiral wound filter element, which are particular suited for the disclosed process, are described.
L'élément concerne un procédé d'ultrafiltration utilisant un filtre à membrane spiralé qui se caractérise en ce que la pression dans l'espace entre l'élément filtre et le récipient à pression est au moins égale à la pression à l'intérieur dudit élément. Dans ces conditions, la force statique créée par la pression produit un frottement élevé entre les différentes feuilles dans l'élément filtre spiralé, ce qui empêche de manière efficace le déroulement ou le télescopage de l'élément filtre. Grâce à cette configuration, on peut réaliser l'ultrafiltration au moyen d'une pression différentielle plus élevée à travers l'élément filtre que ce qui aurait autrement été possible, d'où une meilleure rentabilité et une faible consommation d'énergie. L'invention concerne également un dispositif antitélescopage (ATD) et un élément filtre spiralé particulièrement appropriés au procédé selon l'invention.
