Disclosed and claimed are compositions containing a Borrelia burgdorferi antigen, and methods for making and using them. The antigen can be OspA. The compositions can contain at least one additional antigen from a pathogen other than Borrelia burgdorferi. The compositions are useful for eliciting an immunological response in a host mammal susceptible to Lyme Disease and to the mammalian pathogen other than Borrelia burgdorferi. Suitable host mammals include dogs, pups, horses, and, the additional antigen can be of a canine, equine or feline pathogen, such as rabies, canine distemper, adenovirus, coronavirus, parainfluenza and parvovirus. No significant efficacy interference is observed.

L'invention porte sur des compositions comprenant un antigène du type Borrelia burgdorferi et ses méthodes d'obtention et d'utilisation. Ledit antigène peut être de l'OspA. Lesdites compositions, qui contiennent au moins un antigène autre que le Borrelia burgdorferi, suscitent une réponse immunologique chez un mammifère hôte sensible à la maladie de Lyme et à un élément pathogène autre que le Borrelia burgdorferi. Les mammifères hôtes qui conviennent sont des chiens, des chiots ou des chevaux, tandis que l'antigène additionnel peut être un élément pathogène canin, équin ou félin tel que celui de la rage, de la maladie de Carré, un adénovirus, un coronavirus, un virus de la parainfluenza, ou un parvovirus.
