The present invention relates to a combination of [7- (1H-imidazol-1-yl)-6-nitro-2,3-dioxo-3,4-dihydroquinoxalin- 1(2H)-yl]acetic acid or a salt or hydrate thereof or, preferably, zonampanel together with a tissue plasminogen activator for the therapy of ischemic stroke or for the improvement of neurological symptom accompanied key cerebral infarction, to a method of administration thereof and to a method of therapy therefor. The combination of the present invention showed better effect of reducing the infarct volume than administration of a single component. Therefore, the combination of the present invention is useful as a therapy for ischemic stroke.
