This invention relates to a process for the synthesis of addition polymers containing branches upon branches and having a polymerizable olefin end group by a convenient one-pot polymerization of selected vinyl monomers with chain polymerization initiators and a method to provide olefinic end groups by chain termination agents; and polymers produced thereby characterized by branch-on- branch structure and lower inherent viscosity than heretofore possible.
Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant d'effectuer la synthèse de polymères d'addition contenant des ramifications sur des ramifications et comprenant un groupe terminal oléfinique polymérisable au moyen d'une polymérisation adaptée de monomères de vinyle sélectionnés avec des initiateurs de polymérisation de chaîne et un procédé permettant d'obtenir des groupes terminaux oléfiniques par des agents de terminaison de chaîne; et des polymères produits de cette manière qui se caractérisent par une structure ramification sur ramification et une viscosité inhérente plus faible que ce qu'il était possible d'obtenir jusqu'à présent.
