An adaptor (14) to seal a liner pipe (12) inside a host pipe (10) comprises a flange (16) for sealing connection to one end of the liner pipe. A deformable sleeve (20) is on the flange. An expander element (24) is detachably connected to a placement device (28), and a cord (32) draws the expander element into the deformable sleeve to deform the sleeve into sealing engagement with the host pipe. A block (18, 40) prevents further movement of the expander element into the sleeve such that further drawing of the cord detaches the placement device from the expander element. In one embodiment, the placement device is connected to the expander element by a frangible link (26) which breaks when greater than a threshold drawing force is applied thereto. In another embodiment it comprises a pin (28') which can be drawn through the expander element once the expander element has expanded the sleeve.

La présente invention concerne un adaptateur (14) conçu pour obturer un tuyau de chemisage (12) dans un tuyau récepteur (10) et comprenant une collerette (16) destinée à obturer la zone de connexion à l'une des extrémité du tuyau de chemisage. Un élément écarteur (24) est relié amovible à un dispositif de mise en place (28). Un cordon (32) permet de tirer l'élément écarteur dans le manchon déformable, d'élargir ledit manchon et d'obturer le tuyau récepteur au moyen de l'élément écarteur. Un bloc (18, 40) bloque l'élément écarteur dans le manchon de sorte que le dispositif de mise en place se détache de l'élément écarteur lorsque l'on continue d'exercer une traction sur le cordon. Selon un mode de réalisation, le dispositif de mise en place est relié à l'élément écarteur par un moyen frangible (26) qui se rompt lorsque la force de traction qui lui est appliquée dépasse une valeur-limite. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, on trouve un doigt (28') qui peut être tiré au travers de l'élément écarteur une fois le manchon élargi.
