Among all the activities that are a part of our daily hygiene, there isone that is particularly contradictory in nature. The toothbrush that is used to maintain a clean and healthy mouth is also an instrument that can be heavily contaminated with microorganisms and can be the source of a variety of health problems. This invention is an instrument that is used along with an anti-infective agent to disinfect toothbrushes. The instrument consists of a reservoir containing one or more baffle(s) attached to its inside. The reservoir is filled with a disinfecting agent to kill microorganisms residing in the brush. The brush end of a toothbrush is inserted into the reservoir and moved in such a way that a fanning of the bristles is achieved when they are brought in contact with the baffle(s). This fanning action will assist in removing trapped food particles and facilitate the penetration of the disinfecting agent between the bristles. The brush is then removed from the reservoir to dry and the disinfecting agent is discarded.
