The present invention describes the preservation of sweetness and taste- quality in aspartame-containing calorie-reduced soft drinks. The taste and sweetness are preserved after prolonged storage due to the addition of between 0.1 and 5 (w/v) erythritol. The preservation of the quality is especially apparent in soft drinks having an acidic or slightly acidic pH.
