Method and apparatus for transmitting a wireless communication signal frame, such as an OFDM superframe. In particular, the disclosed methods and apparatus transmit a first pilot symbol in the signal frame where the symbol serves to communicate coarse timing information to a receiver. A second pilot symbol is subsequently transmitted to communicate information including network identification information concerning a wide-area network. Next, overhead information (OIS) concerning the wide-area network is then transmitted and then a third pilot symbol is transmitted to communicate information including network identification information concerning a local-area network to a receiver. By transmitting the third pilot symbol concerning the local-area network after the wide-area OIS, a receiver is allowed to acquire wide-area network timing and information and then subsequently acquire more updated local-area network timing and information and more efficiently utilize processing resources.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour transmettre une trame de signal de communications sans fil, telle qu'une supertrame OFDM. Le procédé et l'appareil décrits permettent notamment de transmettre un premier symbole pilote dans la trame de signal, le symbole servant à communiquer des informations de temporisation approximatives à un récepteur. Un deuxième symbole pilote est ensuite transmis pour communiquer à un récepteur des informations comprenant des informations d'identification de réseau relatives à un réseau étendu. Puis, des informations de surdébit (OIS) concernant le réseau étendu sont ensuite transmises, un troisième symbole pilote étant transmis pour communiquer à un récepteur des informations d'identification de réseau relatives à un réseau étendu. La transmission du troisième symbole pilote concernant le réseau étendu après le réseau OIS permet à un récepteur d'acquérir des informations de temporisation de réseau étendu, puis d'acquérir plus d'informations de temporisation de réseau étendu mises à jour et d'utiliser plus efficacement les ressources de traitement.
