A method for facilitating the inspection of liq-uid merchandise is provided. A machine readable tag is gener-ated and is associated with liquid merchandise purchased at a duty free point of sale or other secure sales or distribution lo-cation, the machine readable tag conveying identification infor-mation related to the liquid merchandise. At a security check-point, the identification information is extracted from the ma-chine readable tag and is used in conjunction with an X-ray im-age of the liquid merchandise to determine if the liquid mer-chandise is consistent with the identification information. A sys-tem and an apparatus for implementing the method presented are also provided.

L'invention a pour objet un procédé destiné à faciliter l'inspection de marchandises liquides. Une étiquette lisible par ordinateur est générée et associée à la marchandise liquide achetée dans un point de vente détaxé ou un autre lieu de vente ou de distribution sécurisé, ladite étiquette lisible par ordinateur comportant des informations d'identification liées à la marchandise liquide. A un point de contrôle de sécurité, les informations d'identification sont extraites de l'étiquette lisible par ordinateur et utilisées conjointement avec une radiographie de la marchandise liquide pour déterminer si la marchandise liquide correspond aux informations d'identification. L'invention a également pour objets un système et un appareil destinés à mettre en uvre le procédé présenté.
