A method for enhancing the conductivity of transparent conductive electrodes on display substrates by providing patterned auxiliary metallic layers adjacent to the transparent conductive material. The method of the present invention eliminates the need for aligning the auxiliary metal layers (26) with transparent conductive electrodes (22) a) by using an inclined collimated beam of metallic material (28) for depositing a metal coating (26) on resist strips (24), or b) by providing resist residuals at the corner of the metal coating, or by forming a contignous metallic coating with a periodic array of holes therein which can be etched simultaneously with the underlying transparent conductive layer.
Cette invention a trait à une technique permettant d'augmenter la conductivité d'électrodes conductrices transparentes présentes sur des substrats d'affichage et ce, par mise en place de couches métalliques complémentaires configurées, contiguës au matériau conducteur transparent. Grâce à cette technique, il n'est plus nécessaire d'aligner les couches métalliques complémentaires (26) avec les électrodes conductrices transparentes (22), (a), en utilisant un jet orienté de matière métallique (28) aux fins du dépôt d'un placage métallique (26) sur les bandes de réserve (24), (b), ou en garnissant les coins du placage métallique de restes de matériau de réserve ou encore en déposant un placage métallique contigu dans lequel a été établi un réseau périodique de trous, lequel placage peut être soumis à une attaque en même temps que la couche conductrice transparente sous-jacente.
