L'invention a pour objet un procédé de purification du dichloro-1,1 fluoro-1 éthane, permettant notamment d'éliminer les impuretés insaturées telles que le dichloro-1,1 éthylène et le dichloroacétylène. Selon ce procédé, on traite le dichloro-1,1 fluoro-1 éthane brut avec du chlore, d'un hydracide ou d'un mélange de ceux-ci, ce traitement étant réalisé en présence d'un acide de Lewis ou, seulement dans le cas du chlore, par catalyse photochimique.
