Abstract The screening machine intended for screening rough substances from in-flows of waste water treatment plants has a screen cylinder with an outside to inside water flow and rotates around a vertical shaft and is characterized according to the invention in that the screen cylinder consists of screening rods wound in the peripheral direction which have a wedge-shaped profile. This makes it possible to scrape off the dewatered solids using a toothed blade which is adapted to the screen slots.
