A composite is provided for forming a sealing strip for use in a suction roll of a papermaking machine that has extended usability and wear. The composite is a blend of a nitrile rubber, graphite, carbon black, and polytetrafluoroethylene, optionally with a phenolic resin. The sealing strip has polytetrafluoroethylene evenly distributed over the contact surface and when installed into a suction roll provides a reduced frictional surface.

L'invention porte sur un composite formant une bande scellante pour rouleau aspirant de machine à fabriquer le papier, possédant une capacité d'utilisation et une résistance à l'usure prolongées. Le composite est un mélange d'un caoutchouc nitrile, de graphite, de noir de carbone et de polytétrafluoroéthylène, avec, facultativement, une résine phénolique. La bande scellante comprend du polytétrafluoroéthylène réparti uniformément sur la surface de contact, et, une fois installée dans le rouleau aspirant, elle forme une surface de friction réduite.
