A fracturing fluid, comprises: a first radiation susceptible material, wherein the radiation susceptible material is non-radioactive until bombarded by neutrons; a proppant, which may be included in the fluid comprises a substrate; and a coating disposed upon the substrate, wherein the substrate or the coating comprises a radiation susceptible material selected from the group consisting of indium, vanadium, and combinations thereof, and wherein the radiation susceptible material is non--radioactive until bombarded by neutrons; the fracturing fluid and the proppant may each be used in a method for determining fracture geometry in a subterranean formation.
