ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A protective device for a needle of a syringe, catheter or the like. The device has a tubular member with bellows formations within which the needle is located. A blocking surface at one end of the member opposes the needle point and has a hole which can be brought into register with the point to allow the needle to extends from the member.
