ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A disc brake caliper arrangement has a rigid support member having two torque receiving arms forming a first opening therebetween, a pair of projections on the arms forming a second opening therebetween, the second opening being below and smaller than the first opening, and an inboard backing plate and an outboard backing plate both slidably supported from the arms so as to transfer thereto all braking torque, the backing plates having respective friction pads affixed thereof. The plates are insertable into the first opening, with the inboard backing plate extending into the second opening but the pro- jections prevent insertion of the outboard backing plate into the second opening. A movable caliper body has inboard and outboard legs for straddling the plates and pads.
