The present invention provides a device and method for selectively removing an article from a stream or line of similar articles travelling in a pathway on a transport system such as a conveyor (48). The invention utilizes a synchronous electric motor (12) which, in response to a signal to reject a specific article in the stream, rotates an article - contacting member or paddle (14) into the path of the stream of articles travelling along the pathway whereby it contacts and via a smooth action removes that article from the stream and then returns to its base position. The use of a synchronous motor (12) to effect the rotation of the paddle (14) is very important to the present invention.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé, qui permettent de retirer sélectivement un article d'un flux ou convoi d'articles similaires défilant sur un parcours d'un système de transport, tel qu'un convoyeur (48). Le procédé de l'invention met en oeuvre un moteur électrique synchrone (12) qui, en réponse à un signal qui lui commande de rejeter un article précis dans le flux, imprime une rotation à un élément de contact avec l'article ou palette (14), laquelle palette arrive sur le trajet du flux d'articles acheminé le long du parcours, entre en contact avec l'article en question et le retire du flux d'un mouvement régulier avant de retourner à sa position de départ. L'utilisation moteur synchrone (12) pour commander la rotation de la palette (14) est très importante pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé de l'invention.
