PLASTIC FLUID MEMBER WITH METAL RETAINER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fluid connector or plug is formed from a molded plastic body which is tailored to conform to the particular shape and dimension of a fluid opening. An annular metal retainer ring is positioned on the outer peripheral surface of the plastic body and engages an inner peripheral surface of the fluid opening. The annular metal retainer ring provides a secure connection to the fluid opening, while the plastic body conforms to the particular fluid opening. The metal retainer ring has a catch flared angularly outwardly to contact an inner peripheral surface of the fluid opening. The metal retainer ring may slip on the plastic body, or may be molded into the plastic body.
