Glass restraint system for windows, including a film (102), an adhesive for af- fixing the film (102) to a window pane (104), and an assembly (106) for clamping the edges of the film (102) to the window frame (100) or mullion and providing an aesthetically pleasing cap and seal around the window. The assembly (106) includes a baseplate (102) with upwardly project- ing sides (206, 208), the outer surfaces of which have captivation grooves (210, 212) extending along the length of the baseplate (102), and an inverted trough-shaped cap (214) having a top (215) and two sides (216, 218) which fit over the base plate (102). The sides (216, 218) of the cap (214) are pro- vided with inwardly protruding ribs (220, 222) on the inside faces that are configured to snap into the captivation grooves (210, 212) for securing the cap (214) to the base- plate (102) so that four segments of the cap (214) and baseplate (102) form a four-sided, substantially rectangular framing assembly. The cap (214) also has at least one narrow protruding rib (224) extending inwardly on the window facing side of the cap top (215), the rib (224) being configured so as to leave a small gap between the rib (224) and the window pane (104). A flexible gasket (228) is engaged to the rib (224) or ribs and used to maintain a sealing pressure against the film (102) covering the window to prevent moisture and other contaminants from accumulating behind the cap (214).
Un dispositif presse-vitre pour fenêtres, se compose d'une pellicule (102), d'une substance adhésive maintenant la pellicule (102) sur la vitre (104) de la fenêtre, et d'un ensemble profilé (106) pinçant les bords de la pellicule (102) sur la vitre (104) ou le survitrage de la fenêtre, réalisant un entourage étanche de belle présentation. L'ensemble profilé (106) se compose d'abord d'un profilé de base (102) muni de rebords verticaux (206, 208) dont les faces externes portent des sillons d'insertion (210, 212) s'étendant sur toute la longueur du profilé de base (102), et ensuite d'une moulure (214) à profil en U renversé comportant un dessus (215) et deux rebords (216, 218) s'adaptant sur le profilé de base (102). Les rebords (216, 218) de la moulure (214) comportent sur leurs faces internes des cordons en relief (220, 222) dépassant vers l'intérieur et prévus pour pénétrer dans les sillons d'insertion (210, 212), fixant ainsi l'entourage (214) sur le profilé de base (102). Les quatre segments de moulure (214) et de profilé de base (102) forment ainsi, sur quatre côtés, un encadrement essentiellement rectangulaire. La moulure (214) est également munie d'un ou de plusieurs cordons saillants étroits (224) placés sur le dessus (215) de la moulure, côté vitre, tournés vers l'intérieur, ces cordons (224) étant conçus pour ménager un interstice minime avec la vitre (104) de la fenêtre. Un joint souple (228) adapté sur le cordon ou sur les cordons (224) permet de maintenir par pression une jonction étanche contre la pellicule (102) recouvrant la fenêtre, empêchant ainsi l'humidité ou d'autres agents contaminants de s'accumuler derrière la moulure (214).
