Catalysts in the form of cylindrical hollow granules, suitable for the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene, and comprising, as active component, ferric oxide and promoters chosen among oxides of alkaline or alkaline-earth metals, oxides of elements of the lanthanide series, and chromium, tungsten, and molybdenum oxides, characterized by the absence of macroporosities with a radius of more than 50,000 .ANG. and/or by high mechanical characteristics of resistance to axial breaking and to abrasion.

Catalyseurs sous forme de granules cylindriques creux, convenant à la déshydrogénation de l'éthylbenzène en styrène, et comprenant, comme produits actifs, de l'oxyde ferrique et des promoteurs choisis parmi les oxydes de métaux alcalins ou de métaux alcalino-terreux, des oxydes des éléments faisant partie des lanthanides et des oxydes de chrome, de tungstène et de molybdène; les granules sont caractérisés par l'absence de macroporosités de rayon supérieur à 50 000 angstroms et/ou par une résistance mécanique élevée à la rupture axiale et à l'abrasion.
