A system (100) and method for providing automatic system deregistration for any incorrectly registered radios (110) is described. The system (100) and method further provides for an automatic reregistration request to be sent in order to guarantee that any valid radios (112) that have the same radio identification information in the system as the incorrectly registered radio (110) to become reregistered. By requesting any radio having the same ID to reregister back with the system (100), a loss of communication to that radio is thereby prevented.
