A method is disclosed for regioselective synthesis of sucrose-6-acetate via formation of a novel sucrose-tin adduct using sucrose and DBTO. The novel tin adduct can be represented by a formula (6-O-sucrose) - O - Snbutyl 2 -O- (6-O-sucrose) or as 1,3.( di O-sucrose) dibutyl stannylene. The adduct is acylated to yield sucrose-6-acetate or sucrose-6-benzoate as major product.

L'invention concerne la synthèse stéréosélective de sucrose-6-acétate par la formation d'un nouvel adduit sucrose/étain, faisant appel à du sucrose et à du DBTO. Ce nouvel adduit d'étain peut être représenté par une formule: (6-O-sucrose) - O Sn(butyle)2 -O- (6-O-sucrose) ou en tant que 1,3.( di O-sucrose) dibutyle stannylène. L'adduit est acétylé pour obtenir du sucrose-6-acétate ou du sucrose-6-benzoate en tant que produit principal.
