The bone-hard supercalender roll (10) of the present invention comprises: an elongate shaft (l2) having a longitudinal axis; a core layer (20) formed of fibrous material circumferentially covering the shaft; means for compressing the core layer along the shaft longitudinal axis; an intermediate layer (30) circumferentially covering the core layer that comprises a first polymeric resin and a heavy textile material; and an outer layer (40) circumferentially covering the intermediate layer that comprises a second polymeric resin and a reinforcing material. In this configuration, the roll can provide the requisite bone-hard surface for calendering applications, but can do so without the surface denting and marring problems associated with filled rolls and the expense of rolls formed of covered metal cores.
La présente invention concerne un rouleau de supercalandre (10) de </= dureté osseuse >/= , constitué d'un arbre allongé (12) à axe longitudinal, d'une couche de base (20) de matériau fibreux qui recouvre l'arbre de manière circonférentielle, de moyens de compression de la couche de base le long de l'axe longitudinal de l'arbre, d'une couche intermédiaire (30) qui recouvre de manière circonférentielle la couche de base et constituée d'une première résine de polymère et d'un textile relativement épais, et finalement d'une couche relativement épaisse (40), qui recouvre de manière circonférentielle la couche intermédiaire, et qui comprend une seconde résine de polymère et un matériau de renforcement. Dans cette configuration, le rouleau présente une surface de </= dureté osseuse >/= requise pour les applications de calandrage et permet de les réaliser en évitant les problèmes d'indentation et de dégradation associés aux rouleaux de fibres comprimées et ceux dus au coût des rouleaux à base métallique recouverte.
