The present application describes methods and apparatus for co-processing solid organic waste material and sludge to form a material suitable for agricultural application. The method comprises the steps of forming an admixture of solid organic waste materials and sludge in one or more containment vessels (12, 14, 16 and 18). At least one of the vessels has means for mixing (118 and 122) the admixture formed, and is further equipped with means for placing gases and water into the vessel (30) and removing gases and water from the vessel (32). The vessel is equipped with temperature controls (222) to facilitate imposition of various growth conditions within the vessel. The vessel further comprises opening means for receiving solid organic waste material and sludge and discharging one or more biodegradable products. The mixing apparatus maintains the admixture in contact with gases and water and provides temperature uniformity within the vessel.
Procédés et installations de traitement combiné de déchets organiques solides et de boues pour obtenir une matière indiquée pour des applications agricoles. Le procédé consiste à former un mélange de déchets organiques solides et de boues dans une ou plusieurs cuves (12, 14, 16 et 18). Au moins l'une des cuves comporte des moyens permettant de mélanger (118 et 122) le mélange formé, ainsi que des moyens permettant d'introduire des gaz et de l'eau dans la cuve (30) et des moyens permettant d'extraire les gaz et l'eau de la cuve (32). La cuve est pouruve de régulateurs de température (222) afin de faciliter l'établissement de différentes conditions de croissance à son intérieur. La cuve comporte également des ouvertures permettant l'introduction de déchets organiques solides et de boues et la décharge d'un ou plusieurs produits biodégradables. L'appareil de mélange maintient le mélange en contact avec les gaz et l'eau et assure une température uniforme à l'intérieur de la cuve.
