ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A snap on pull off flexible cap for containers having a neck surrounding an opening therein, oppositely disposed vertically arranged fastening configurations on the exterior of said neck, said cap having a top portion, an annular depending wall thereon, a tear skirt having continuous ratchet teeth on its inner surface, portions of said ratchet teeth joined to said annular depending wall so as to support said tear skirt, a frangible line in said tear skirt and a pull tab secured to said tear skirt at one side of said frangible line, the continuous ratchet teeth on the tear skirt arranged to engage said vertically arranged fastening configurations on the neck of the container. Thread patterns on the inner surface of the annular depending wall for engagement with matching thread patterns on the neck of the container.
